Cultural appropriation, misogyny and racism, the vanity of social media, post-colonialism and political correctness are not the usual topics of discussion on the dance floor, but Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul break these rules with their first album ?Topical Dancer?. This album is not so much about pointing fingers as it is about emancipation through humour. ?Topical Dancer? confirms the typical sound of Charlotte and Bolis: it's thoughtful but it slaps. Their approach to familiar genres is always unusual; the songs sound eccentric or at least a touch unusual.
